Policy statement by Pentland Wholesale Limited in respect of The Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013 (WEEE).
As a supplier operating Business to Business, we are committed to the protection of the environment & recognise that the above regulation plays an important part in minimising the impact of waste on the world which we live in.
The regulation aims to recycle & make good use of the materials that make up old electrical & electronic equipment at the end of its useful life.
Furthermore, it aims to prevent the negative environmental impact of sending this type of equipment to landfill.
The equipment that is subject to the WEEE regulation is marked with a crossed-out wheelie bin logo denoting that is should not be disposed of as landfill waste.
Customers wishing to dispose of their existing equipment in accordance with WEEE, should advise us at the time of placing orders for new equipment. A disposal charge will be applied. All price lists & quotations exclude end of life disposal charges.
Sales orders are accepted on the basis that customers accept full liability for the disposal of used WEEE equipment unless we are informed in writing at, or before, the point of placing orders. Failure to do so will mean the customer is deemed to have accepted this responsibility.
Pentland Wholesale Limited is happy to undertake collection & disposal of equipment in accordance with the WEEE regulations on a chargeable basis.
Where a Pentland Wholesale product is supplied to an EU member state other than the UK, the local importer or distributor should make arrangements according to local requirements.
