Looking Ahead To 2023

2022 was a year of recovery for our business and our customers. Everyone knows how challenging the past few years have been for our industry, but we are looking ahead, into the future, ready to face anything that comes our way just as we have done this year.

We hope 2023 will be a year of progress and success for us and our customers. We are already planning on attending more exhibitions and public events now that we can allow ourselves to worry less about Covid related problems and restrictions.

Heading Across The Border To ScotHot

Thanks to the recent rise of Blizzard and Koldbox’ popularity over in Scotland, we decided to head over up to ScotHot to the biggest exhibition space that we’ve ever had up there. We are planning to bring our bestselling products like the BAR2 and BIM40, as well as some of our newer units like the BTD-GD display multideck with sliding glass doors from Blizzard. It’s going to be a huge event that we know will let us build new connections with suppliers and end users.

Stepping Into A New Industry

In April, Blizzard is booked in to exhibit at the HCA Expo in Birmingham. This is an exciting one for us as it will help us reach a new sector where we’re not established yet. Our brand Blizzard is well known for bar equipment - this is where we shine – and now it is time to take on a new challenge!

The Hospital Caterers Association is all about serving healthy food to the NHS patients and staff and that's where our storage solutions and cooking equipment are going needed to provide good quality results. By attending this exhibition and speaking to those who are already involved within this industry, we will learn to understand it in order to tailor the production of our units and grow our brands.

Part Of A Healthier Nation

We also hope to see you at the Public Sector Catering Expo next year in November. The PSC is a brilliant event working towards serving healthy food within the UK and we are thrilled to be a part of it. Expanding into the public sector catering means exposure for our service, cooking and storage equipment.

Joining forces with the PSC also means that you will be hearing about us and our products much more frequently thanks to a more expansive marketing plan that we have put in place for next year.

… Speaking Of Editorials …

We have put a plan in place for more editorial pieces to come out next year, more regularly than in 2022. We chose to feature in the Bar Magazine, as our bestselling products are bar related. Their readers will be the first ones to know of any new updates, sales or changes so keep your eye out for those!

Industry Visits

Next October, our team will be flying over to Host Milano where we’ll meet with our key suppliers who we’ve not seen in a hot while! Attending the show will help us see and understand where the future of our industry is headed, allowing us to make better informed decisions when it comes to development of our existing units as well as new product lines.

In February, our team will be making their way over to Catex for the first time in 5 years. We’re going to see whether it’s the right show for Pentland to exhibit at in 2024 - big plans ahead!

New Product Lines

Our team has been working really hard trying to find the right manufacturers of units that you have been asking for. We hope that 2023 will be the year of new arrivals which will allow many of our customers to be able and place full orders just from us, without having to purchase separate units from several wholesalers. In particular we have our mind set on a particular refrigerated type of unit to join our range in 2023. There are also whispers going around regarding new modular types of icemakers to join the market, but more on that next year!

Product Rework

What we have already started this year, in our warehouse, we’ll try and do better next year. We will be working with a product photographer in order to better show off our own brands’ Blizzard and Koldbox products. This will allow our customers to have great quality imagery for our units which show our products as how they actually look like.

Launch Of Blizzard’s New Website

Pentland Wholesale can’t be the only one with a shiny new website! Blizzardequipment.co.uk is following our footsteps in 2023. The new website for Blizzard will make it easy for end users to view our full range, see all angles of every unit and check where they can find their nearest supplier.

Launch of koldbox.co.uk

Thanks to a visible progress in popularity, it’s only fair that Koldbox also gets its own website. This will allow our end users to view Koldbox’ units, find all required information and check where they’re able to find their nearest supplier.

Further pentlandwholesale.co.uk Development

The recent launch of our new website was a great success, and we can already see the popularity of placing orders online rising, comparing to the standard less automated way of putting an order in over the phone.  There are still some creases left for us to smooth out, which is why our website is under constant development. Soon our customers will be able to access their credit accounts online to place their orders as well as see an estimated date of arrival for products currently not in stock.

Celebrating Our 30^th Trading Year

Next year we are celebrating Pentland’s 30^th anniversary, which is a huge milestone for us and especially our staff. To show how grateful we are for our team that keeps Pentland going, we have started planning fun and exciting things for us to do. We will be hosting and attending special events related to our birthday.
