WHAT IS GRADED STOCK AND WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?

Most of our graded units have barely made their way out of packaging. Some were plugged in, turned on and used once or twice, before making their way back to us. Even though these units work perfectly well, they weren't the right fit for the customer and will be sold as part of our graded stock at a much lower price. Other graded units did occur some damage, such as a scratch or a bump. The damaged units are discounted depending on the level of damage.

HOW CAN YOU BE SURE THEY WORK?

It's often thought that buying a graded unit means buying a unit that's massively damaged and doesn't work properly, but that's not the case at Pentland! We make it our mission to only sell high quality units, that work well - even from our graded section.

All of our graded units go through thorough testing by our engineers to make sure they're in perfect working order. They start by making sure they're electrically safe through a PA (portable appliance) test, if the unit passes this test then they'll move on to check for any damages/ faults the unit may have. After these are repaired (where possible), it goes through a series of tests, these tests are usually run for 24 hours to make sure the unit is in perfect working order. Once the unit passes this testing, it is cleaned, checked to make sure all it's parts are with it (instruction manual, keys etc), then goes through a couple more tests just to double check it's safe to use and finally, moved into our graded section.

HOW DOES THE GRADED SYSTEM WORK?

Our graded systems is made up of 4 grades - A - D. 99% of the units that come into graded are grade A/B, meaning you're basically getting a brand new product for half price or less!

Grade A - as if the unit was brand new

Grade B - light scratching, small dents etc

Grade C/ GRX - previously used (but good condition) units

Grade D/ GRX - previously used (light scratching/ dented) units

Grade E - big dents/ scratches, noticeable issues

All graded units come with a 12 Month Parts Only Warranty and are inspected and tested before they make their way onto our clearance page, so you can be sure that your graded unit will work as well as a brand new one, at a fraction of the price.
